artist’s statement
I am a Virtual Production Filmmaker with experience in VP supervision, ICVFX and LED stage operation, and mixed reality storytelling. I specialize in high-pressure on-set execution and creative problem-solving for stories that bend and pierce reality creatively and technically, in concept and execution. I am drawn to empathetic and energetic teams committed to elevating the world through the union of story and technology. My obsession is the new renaissance—the reunion between art, creativity, and storytelling, and science and technology through today’s virtual windows. I seek out science and climate fiction, alien worlds (including our own!), anthropology, postmodernism, transhumanism, and XR technology, and stories that rewrite existing narratives. I want to make things that redefine the use cases for our wildest dreams, accessing both modern and ancient mindsets through story, color, sound, and fury.
I am a graduate of the Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center at NYU Tisch, where I learned virtual production producing and mixed reality filmmaking from outline to final pixel. Throughout the program, I’ve led creative and technical teams for a variety of shoots, leveraging skills in Unreal Engine, Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and RunwayML for the VP pipeline. My initial interest in Virtual Production stemmed from thinking it was the most revolutionary way to combine film and tech. The more I learn about it as a discipline, however, the more I realize it restores traditional filmmaking practices, which I love even more. There is so much we can do on set and in camera, bringing us full circle to the collaborative and prescient creative and technical decisions that characterized the first productions.
On the LED volume microbudget film The Feather, I served as VP Supervisor, Producing Team Member, Story Lead, and VAD Artist. I coordinated production logistics, blended physical and virtual storytelling elements on set, and helped the team raise over $20,000 to bring this Viking-era epic to life. I brought together story beats, wrote the dialogue, and developed the background and character dossiers for the script. I also initiated outreach with famed cultural experts to bring realism to the production. Having overseen the integration of physical and virtual production elements on set, I am now utilizing photogrammetric scanning, Move.AI, and Mixamo to create rigged digital avatars of the film’s protagonists for the sweeping CG finale.
I was the First Assistant Director on a sci-fi virtual production short where I managed scheduling, departmental cohesion, and safety oversight across a 30-person team. I currently support production workflows as a Virtual Production Intern at Gum Studios, working with motion capture and retargeting for Metahumans and custom models and rigs, and an LED wall and Bolt camera arm sync for real-time commercial, fashion, and music video shoots in UE5. In addition, I studied mixed reality filmmaking, game design, and AR/VR technology at The New School and Parsons, where I created experimental projects including a 360° POV film and an interactive AR app. These experiences taught me how to manage highly collaborative, nonlinear productions—and to champion emerging media from concept to completion.
Being inspired by an incredible and burgeoning artistic community to push our understanding of life and reality to new heights is my passion and purpose. I chase collaborative knowing, truth, and reality in everything I do and learn. I love stories that take twists and turns, landing viewers in a web of revelation and I strive to create that sensation in my own work. I am driven by characters and stories that overcome tremendous odds and impossible circumstances, ranging from acceptance of the terrible to triumph over adversity, generating hope and energy for all in the future.
As a filmmaker I gravitate toward cinematography that stays with the character through chaos and intense motion. As an evolving 3D environment and mixed reality artist, I seek to create the kind of abstract visuals, colors, lighting, and musical visual rhythm that give unspeakable meaning and life to ideas, worlds, and artifacts just out of reach of comprehension. My favorite aesthetics are terra futura, dark fantasy, biophilic brutalism, and solar punk, and my subsequent journeys include holography, robotics and autonomous systems, projection mapping, and photogrammetry. In achieving final pixel, I enjoy alternating deliberate pacing with satisfying motion.
I love oppositions and contrasts, the myth of balance, and the constancy of chaos and rhythm that permeates every moment. I believe that we live in a constant unfolding of a universe that defies explanation each moment we create meaning in it. I work to understand, and if that journey is infinite, then so is understanding, and so are we.
I'm someone you can rely on to enter any situation and quickly identify needs, and inclusive and effective solutions. My experience and education have equipped me to engage in any practice with enthusiasm and clarity—whether that’s coordinating departments, anticipating creative or technical challenges, or ensuring smooth integration between camera, VFX, and LED volumes. I pride myself on being proactive, adaptable, and fully immersed in the success of the shoot. I thrive under pressure, stay calm in chaos, and bring sharp observation, focused energy, and a collaborative spirit to every project. If you're looking for a driven, capable, and versatile team member who’s ready to contribute from day one, I’m ready to be on set and make things happen.
